With the advances happening around in science and medicine, a lot of procedures and operations that were once impossible are now achievable. But how should we as Muslims react and what shall we do when we are sick? Shall we avail oneself to medicine? Is it obligatory for Muslims to avail themselves of every medical procedure? Or is it something that is just recommended to be done? Should the person do something? Or should he just stand still and do nothing leaving it to Allah?

In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi talks about what is preferable “mostahab” to be done by classical Scholars. And he continues to speak about some of the scenarios where seeking medical help and procedures is obligatory.
