Quran says “wadrebohen” - beat them, when talking about women.Does it mean to hit women? Is this a permission for men to do so by an order from god? Or is there another interpretation for its meaning?
In Quran, in Surat “Al Nesa’ - the Women ”Allah said “wadrebohen” - and beat them- when talking about women! But does it really mean to hit women? Is this a permission for men to do so by an order from god? Or is there another interpretation for its meaning?
All Muslims believe that the Quran is perfect and every Surah and Ayah inside are with the exact same perfection. So, how come that the religion of mercy and dignity asks men to beat and hit women? The beginning of Ayah speaks about how men are care-takers of women who should look after them and ensure that their life is going well and maintaining them. Allah gave every partner a preference over the other. And the good women are those who are subservient to god and guard their dignity and faith and the chastity of marriage. So, how does hitting a woman go with guarding her dignity? And what does it mean for a woman to be a bad wife? She can raise suspicions around herself with certain behaviours, is that why she should be beaten? Or there are certain gradual steps that should be followed first before reaching that final destination?
