The vote of the majority does not define Morality. Dr. Yasir Qadhi

To stay faithful to Seerah and Sharia, we shall stick to the truth and even if the entire world accepted the wrong things and call them right, we as Muslims should not!

Islam has defined for us the principles that can help and assist us in the distinction between what is right and what is wrong, to be able to differentiate between good and bad behaviour. We have learnt the basics and we as Muslims have many aspects of morality.

In this video, Dr. Yasir Qadhi poses an important question and discusses its answer, and that question is what exactly is Morality and what are the guidelines that Islam have regarding it? He states how we, as Muslims have a different view of morality that might be regarded as an unpopular opinion or even not good enough to fit the modern world. He says that morality is not defined by the vote of the majority or by what the politics of the country see to be correct and suitable. And in order to stay faithful to Seerah and Sharia, we shall stick to the truth and even if the whole world started to accept the wrong things and call them right, we as Muslims should not! And the wrong and immoral must stay wrong and immoral for us at all times despite the criticism that we will take. We will stick to our values because that is what our Prophet Muhammad -Peace be upon him- has taught us. Dr. Qadhi continues by giving us an example from the Seerah telling us a great story about prophet Muhammad -PBUH.
