Allah urged all Muslims to care for their neighbours, the close ones and the stranger ones. And in these times of pandemic and distress, we must make sure that no elderly neighbour is suffering alone.
We are not living alone in this life. Each one of us, whether in an eastern or a western country, is living in society inside a neighbourhood and is surrounded by people.
In this video, Ameena Blake reminds us of the importance of being kind and useful members of the societies we are living in and how we should look after our neighbours in times of distress. She talks about how Jabreel -Alayh As-Salam- kept reminding our prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) continuously to look after his neighbours until Prophet Muhammad thought that Allah would make the neighbours inherit from as if they are members of the family! And it’s not only in Sunnah but also in the Holy Quran, where Allah urged all Muslims to care for their neighbours, the close ones and the stranger ones. And in these times of pandemic and distress, we must make sure that no elderly neighbour is suffering alone, unable to get his basic needs, or a single mom who cannot afford to fill her cupboard. Because by maintaining our neighbours' needs we will spread a climate of peace and comfort not only in the place we live in, but it will spread to the whole society, ensuring that humans stick together through hard times and pass safely to the shore of salvation.
