Imam Suhaib Webb received a question, whether closing Ka’ba and cancelling hajj is a sign of the hour or not. The idea terrified people and wanted to know the truth.
With the COVID-19 virus striking all over the world, many countries were forced to take extreme measures to help control the spread of the illness and protect the vulnerable people who might get affected and even lose their lives to this vicious disease. One of these measures was the major lockdown of all countries, closing airports and stopping flights, cancelling major public events, and forbidding group gatherings which of course included Group prayers in mosques “jama’a” and even the hajj itself.
Imam Suhaib Webb had received a question about this matter which was asking whether closing Ka’ba and cancelling hajj is a sign of the hour or not. People were terrified by the idea and wanted to know the truth. The people had got this idea because they related it to the Hadith that Prophet Muhammed -Peace be upon him- said which states that the hour will not start until hajjis (people who perform hajj) no longer meet, or in another version “There is no hajj in the house (Ka’ba).” But does this have any other conditions? Did the people really interpret the Hadith correctly? Imam Webb tells us that one of the main principles of the science of hadith is to bring all the related Hadiths together. And after doing this, he found that there is other evidence around this hadith. There are other things and more signs to be combined together. So, let’s watch the video and know the answer.
